Fostering

Y Bont has extensive experience within the field of fostering. We work closely with North Wales Local Authorities and further afield when necessary.

We can offer the following fostering services:

• Training for general foster carers and kinship or connected foster carers.
• Foster carers review of registration.
• Independent support to foster carers facing allegations or who are in dispute with the fostering agency.
• Foster care assessments.
• Support groups for kinship carers / connected persons.
• Support groups for foster carers’ children.
• Chairing meetings when a child’s placement ends unexpectedly.

We are also working alongside Gwynedd Council to develop a service to support Special Guardians.

Special Guardians may be one of the following:

• Carers who have been awarded Special Guardianship Orders in respect of children originally from Gwynedd.
• Carers from Gwynedd who have been awarded Special Guardianship Orders in respect of children from outside Gwynedd.
• Carers from outside Gwynedd who have been awarded Special Guardianship Orders on children from outside Gwynedd who move to Gwynedd after the order was made.
