Wellbeing

In order to support the families we work with, Y Bont has developed several services to support family wellbeing and resilience.

Seasons for Growth

Y Bont offers the Seasons for Growth child and young persons’ programme.

Seasons for Growth is an innovative grief and loss programme that uses the metaphor of the seasons to illustrate the experience of grief.

Seasons for Growth aims to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people (aged 6-18) who are dealing with significant life changes by exploring the impact of the change and loss on everyday life and learning new ways to respond to these changes. Each programme consists of 8 hours, usually 1 hour per week over the course of 8 weeks.

We also run programmes for parents to help their children deal with their losses as a result of parental separation or a family bereavement.

We also run programmes for adults on dealing with their own feelings of grief and loss.

Counselling

Y Bont has a counselling service for children aged 10 or over and adults. We use the Person-Centred approach, and we have fully qualified counsellors on the team. The service initially offers 6 individual sessions and these take place at mutually agreed venues or online, easily accessible to the client. More than 6 sessions may be offered if the counsellor and client feel it would be beneficial.

Individual support

Mainly for previous service users we offer support to parents whose children are open to Social Services and they need some guidance and support during this time.

Cam Nesaf - is a 6-session parenting course for those who may have demonstrated violence or aggression towards their partners. When someone attends a Cam Nesaf course we provide partner support.

Parent to Parent - this is a new programme which we are developing. This will be a peer support programme for parents who have had a child removed from their care.
