Developing a listening culture
Strengthening the families in Gwynedd
Y Bont is a charitable organisation who works to meet the requirements and to provide support for children and young people who, for whatever reasons, are or are at risk of being separated from their families. To achieve this Y Bont has developed a number of services –Clywed is a participation project since 2000.
Y Bont recognises the importance of listening to the opinions, views and wishes of children, young people and families and actively encourages practitioners, public bodies, agencies and youth services to reflect these views in the services that they offer.
The Clywed Kite mark is given to companies, agencies and practitioners who can demonstrate their commitment to;
- promoting participation, listen to and act upon the views and requirements of children, young people and their families
- allow their opinions to influence their method of working and their products and services
The Clywed project works with children, young people and families to assess and review services.
Clywed also undertakes occasional consultancy work in the field of the voice of children and young people.
Clywed facilitates a group of young people to meet monthly; this group provides an opportunity for agencies to consult with young people on any subject.
Clywed also facilitates a Parents Forum which meets monthly and provides parents with support and information as well as providing agencies with a group to consult with.
Members of both the young people and the parents groups have received training to take part in Staff interviews and recruitment processes.
Companies wishing to either be assessed for the Clywed Kite mark or who wish to consult with children, young people or families should contact us on 01286 881620, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
